Those crazy machines that do simple things are called “Rube Goldbergs”. Think you need lots of time and money to make one? Think again.
Advertisers love those contraptions, which take 45 steps to open a box or 88 steps to turn on a cell phone and use lots of high-tech lighting and fancy parts, and are pretty much guaranteed to make us watch again.
But these guys figured out how to make some pretty cool ways to ring a “Help me!” bell using things like books, toilet paper tubes, string, ball bearings, dixie cups, rulers, and whatever they had laying around.
Trust me. Watch this and you’re going to want to grab the tape, some scissors, and maybe a friend. Or a kid. Or three. Because it doesn’t have to be fancy to be cool.
If you make one, we want to see it! Follow us on Twitter @goodmenproject and post a pic with #gmptimetoplay!
