Fox station apologizes to Black Lives Matter protester for editing chant to say ‘Kill a cop’
—
A Fox Network affiliate says it did not intentionally edit video to show #blacklivesmatter protester Tawanda Jones chanting “kill a cop”. But as a video editor myself, I can tell you that this is highly unlikely. Someone at Fox Baltimore chose to encourage racial hatred. If this isn’t yelling “fire” in a crowded theater, I don’t know what is. See the interview with Tawanda below to hear her thoughts.
The bigger question here is this. Is Fox Baltimore’s decision to incite racial tensions indicative of a larger culture of race baiting at Fox nationally?
Baltimore Fox affiliate station apologized to a Black Lives Matter protester on Monday after the station deceptively edited a chant by protesters to say “Kill a cop.”
According to Talking Points Memo, the chant, led by protester Tawanda Jones, actually said, “We won’t stop, we can’t stop, ’til killer cops, are in cell blocks.”
On Monday, Gawker noted the deceptive editing, juxtaposing Baltimore Fox station WBFF’s footage against actual footage from the protest event, which the site acquired via C-SPAN.
