Do you love sports? Would your dream be to write about sports and get your stories in front of millions of people a month? Read on.

We love sports. Granted, at first blush that doesn’t knock down any stereotypes about men. Guys like sports, right? But the way we cover sports here in the Sports section of The Good Men Project is different than your average media company.
We see sports as a lens to look at masculinity in the 21st century and a prism through which to examine the social and cultural issues of the day. We have tackled a range of fascinating issues arising from professional sports, college sports, youth sports, and sports in the backyard. We’ve been covering stories on the NFL and bullying, domestic violence, and concussions; on the NBA and racism as told through the conflict between the league and Donald Sterling; on MLB and performance enhancing drugs.
But sports stories aren’t just the day’s most shocking negative stories. We learn and grow through sports. We teach our children lessons through sports. We bond with our friends and families through sports. We explore the role of sports in life, both the good and the bad. We’ve written about little league, pick-up basketball, men’s hockey leagues, martial arts, and parent/child bonding through sports.
Aside from the social issues angle, we also sprinkle in straight up sports writing—playoff previews, ongoing coverage of big sports news, the Olympics, the World Cup—along with inspirational sports quotes (the “On Greatness” series), and humorous sports-related bits.

We’re looking for your stories about any aspect of sports—whether you’ve experienced them personally, been moved by witnessing them in amateur or professional play, or you simply have thoughts or a philosophy about the positive (or negative) influence of sports that you’d like to share. We’re looking for single contributions as well as weekly columnists.
