A son’s pride and gratitude come from inside when the father has become a living ghost.

Lord Forgive Me
Edwin Noguera
Lord forgive me for what I’m about to do,
forgive me for my sins for the known and the unknown,
please forgive me Father for all the sinning I have done,
all the dirt I had to do,
all the trouble I’ve been through.
Lord, forgive all those people talking behind my back,
those people don’t know what I’ve been through.
Ain’t that the truth?
So many tears that I cried,
feel as if I’ve got nothing to lose.
Why my grandmother passed away,
why my dad didn’t stay,
wish they were both here today.
Everything’s just going wrong,
feels like nothing’s right.
Ain’t no way I’m giving up.
Ain’t no way I’m giving in.
Ain’t no father around to thank
I’m a lion in this field and my heart is made of steel.
And even though I’m not perfect,
I’m grateful for waking up today…..
Amen.
