Kids learn electronics by building projects: combines electronic building blocks with the first-ever augmented reality tutor app.
My kids and I LOVE the Tesla Kit we received to review. It’s simple and intuitive. The Light Up Learning App gives you an objective then step by step instructions on not only how to complete the Tesla Kit projects but WHY things work as they do. For example, the first Tesla project was a morse code beeper. The easy to understand directions explained what a circuit was, what parts were needed and it’s function, “a battery provides electrical energy to power the components of your circuit”and so on. Everything in the Tesla Kit was clearly marked and color coded modules made is simple and fun for my kids to complete projects virtually unassisted. The best part was using the camera on your phone the Light Up Learning App looked your work over to check if it was complete and made suggestions on what to do to make it work!
The kids made half the available projects quickly that increased in complexity and taught scientific theories of Conductivity by using different household items like teaspoons to complete circuits, the differences between analog and digital signals by creating a Light Beeper, and how to use a microcontroller (MCU) to show kids how to write simple code!
This is a home run product for school age children to learn electronics that should be supported and I hope you contribute to the Kickstarter campaign. Kids love making stuff and that’s awesome. Not only is making fun, it builds confidence and creativity as they learn how the world around them works. LIGHT UP Kits and the LIGHT UP LEARNING APP allows kids to make electronic projects and understand what they are making.
LIGHT UP empowers every kid to understand and create their own electronic devices. By combining an electronics construction kit with an interactive augmented-reality tutor app, LightUp helps kids understand the fundamentals of technology.
