On and off through his storied NFL career Randy Moss has drawn some bad press. But Randy Moss kept a pledge he made to a young cancer survivor he has known since his rookie year.

“Randy!” yelled the 2 years old Kassi Spier back in 1998.
And that formed a special bond between Randy Moss and Kassi Spier when Moss was a rookie with the Minnesota Vikings and Spier was a 2-year-old fan attending an autograph session at the team’s training camp.

Two years after their first encounter, Spier was diagnosed with leukaemia and Moss was there with her as she battled with leukaemia. And in 2004, her father died in a car accident. In 2013, Spier was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Through it all, Moss kept up with her and remained friends. He even promised to attend her high school graduation.
Last week the seven-time Pro Bowler kept that promise, showed up at Pelican Rapids High School in Minnesota for the graduation ceremony. Not only that, but it was Moss himself who handed the diploma to Spier.
