The only thing more exhilarating than playing a quick game of Mario Kart on your old Nintendo 64 is doing it in real life.

It’s also a whole lot more dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. Thankfully, filmmaker Devin Super Tramp brought along a few friends onboard to show us how it’s done in his most recent stunt video, High Speed Luge in 4K.
It’s not every day you see your childhood Mario Kart dreams come to life. Devin and his squad of daredevils headed over to the Skyline Rotorua luge track in New Zealand where it all seems pretty tame and awesome. An amusement park with stunning views, Skyline has a gondola ride, a sky-swing, and a zipline. For the luge, a ski lifts take you and your luge, attached underneath, on a ride up the slopes to the three courses and for some very fast downhill sailing.
Once you get all geared up, you race down the track. The end result? A lot of twists and turns and speedy fun playing Mario Kart in real life.
Below is the sometimes-humorous behind-the-scenes take of the filming, as well as some of the technical aspects involved in the shoot.
