Chris Forte on uncovering powers we didn’t even know we had inside of us.

I just got back from a Hay House Workshop called “Speak, Write, and Promote.” I had the opportunity to give a five minute speech to the audience. There were about 75 people in the room, I believe 65 were women. The heart of my speech was me being alone Christmas morning without my three daughters as I was going through a painful divorce. Now, because it was only five minutes I was conscious of my allotted time. I wanted to make sure I hit all my points, and at the end of my speech I wanted a call to action, which was to subscribe to my website.
Hay House created a safe and supportive environment and the audience was 100% behind all of the speakers. After my speech was done, Cheryl Richardson–a New-York Times bestselling author of five books, including The Art of Extreme Self-Care, said, “Chris we would love to see more feeling about that time when you were alone in the apartment,” and she then eluded to the female side within me. I knew exactly where she was coming from.
It brought me back to my awareness about needing to be at a certain male/female energy to be in balance, which for me is 60/40 male/female. I uncovered this ratio through many years of sessions and energy work with my mentor, Linda, who is an energy/body worker. By working with her over a number of years (we met when I was 33), she gave me an education about both the male/female energies within the body. When I was in the middle of going through my divorce, I was 70/30 female/male and with the care I was getting from certain practitioners, we brought that back to 60/40 male.
I don’t want you to be confused by all these percentages–this is just a gauge I use for myself. I learned this over the years with the help of my mentor along with other energy healers on my path. The important note here is to be aware that both men and women have a masculine/male side and a feminine/female side.
So now let’s go back to my speech. Two weeks ago I was at the Mankind Project where I was about 80/20 male/female at the end, and I carried that energy over to the Hay House conference. If my male/female was 80/20 and most of the audience was women, there is a little bit of a lost connection. For this example, let’s say most of the women were at a 60/40 female/male. If there were some women with a 60/40 male/female or higher masculine energy, then there is more likelihood they would connect with me more than the 60/40 female/male balanced women.
Part of our Spiritual Fitness Program is to discover what balances us and where our equilibrium point is located, especially when we are in relationships. Seek out a mentor in the holistic space that can help you have an understanding of how the energy works in your body, and find at least one good energy/body worker in your area.
Live Brave,
Chris
