This Bartsia looks for all the world like a miniature galleon about to set sail.
–––
The ‘sails’ of the bartsia are some how quite fitting as this place was once the stronghold of pirates.
These cliffs were better known in those far off days as the Barbary Coast.
All along this headland are long forgotten lookouts and strongholds – the only defence against these pirate raiders.
It is among the ruins of these that I saw this miniture floral reminder of wilder days.
