Of course, this is a gesture in protest to the killing of Eric Garner, just last week’s St. Louis Rams “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” gesture was in protest to Michael Brown’s death by killing in Ferguson and in solidarity with others protesting.
In Detroit, Lions RB Reggie Bush followed suit, wearing an “I Can’t Breath” shirt during warm-ups.
To the best of our knowledge, no police department got indignant or asked Rose or Bush to take it off. (Unlike in St. Louis.)

2. Texans WR Andre Johnson Goes Christmas Shopping for Underprivileged Kids. Again.
May your receipts be as long as your days. Johnson dropped $16,000 at Toys ‘R Us, for the children of Houston, footing the bill for a no-holds barred shopping spree that he organized:
“I couldn’t imagine this as a child. I always said if I ever made it, if I was blessed to make a lot of money, I always wanted to give back and do things for kids and just help people out. That’s why I do it.”
Andre Johnson has actually done this every year of his career in Houston.
Class act.

3. The Legend of Odell Beckham, Jr. Grows. You Down with ODB? (Yeah, You Know Me!)
Two weeks ago in this space, the initial So…This Happened column covered Odell Beckham Jr.’s INCREDIBLE catch, in excruciating detail. We shared pictures from all angles, Vines, videos, and Tweets. And we still couldn’t get enough.
And then . . . there were reports out of Giant’s practice that Beckham was kicking 35 yard field goals. All by himself. No holder required.
Of course.
Then, on Sunday, Beckham wracked up 117 yards on 9 catches (with one TD) in the first half against the Titans, single-handedly out-gaining the entire Tennessee Team. He had a dazzling 50 yard catch, a shifty punt return, and *almost* connected on a 50 yard option pass.
Thank God he didn’t connect on that one, because our collective heads would have exploded.
Which would have made for a far less productive work day on Monday.
So…begging the pardon of Treach and Naughty by Nature, the answer to the question, “You down with ODB?,” is a resounding “Yeah, you know me!”
