You can’t eliminate inequality by addressing half the problem. At best that creates another inequality at worst that creates a greater inequality. You can’t up lift every one by lifting up only half the people.
We agree, John, and we have dedicated our lives to helping men and women learn from each other. The gender war is over–and if it isn’t, it should be. Most people are willing to work for gender equality that leads to positive and productive relationships with the opposite sex. Applying the current social and interpersonal tools available often leaves them feeling frustrated and exhausted. These “best practices” are built on a flawed adversarial system of “us vs. them” which perpetuates the gender gap – a divide between men and women. I’ll concern myself with making a better world for women when men’s issues are met with something other than dismissal or mockery. Men’s Day was yet another reminder that we are not nearly there yet.
