Indiana politicians thought they were holding the line; instead, they crossed it.

Editor’s Note: As of yesterday, Governor Mike Pence had signed a fix to Indiana’s RFRA law to address concerns about the legislation sanctioning discrimination by sexual orientation. The firestorm that erupted over the law as initially passed showed just how far the nation has come in the battle to end discrimination and affirm gay rights. This week, our graphic conversationalist, Judy Clement Wall, has created an image of the Indiana border for “The Visual Conversation.” We encourage readers to build on “The Visual Conversation” and create an actual conversation in the comments.

Regarding editors note … He caved.
What’s interesting is that a lot has surfaced because of this. We’re finding Gay owned bakeries are discriminating in fact there is a case in Colorado pending. There was something about Muslim bakeries discriminating against gays as well. Looks like this has started a real fire storm.
I hadn’t heard that, but I guess I’m not surprised. Discrimination happens all the time. I think the difference here was that the right to discriminate was being codified. And, maybe a firestorm is good if it gets us all talking about it, right?
