This video kicked me in the feels and reminded me that humans aren’t the worst.
As a man, there are times when I look around and feel like everything is going to hell in a basket of hands (that’s what a hand basket is, right?). Then I see a video like this and for all our misgivings, I’m reminded how altruistic, interconnected, compassionate, bold and beautiful (and young and restless) we can be as a species. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, this video may brighten your day (or not, I mean, maybe you just don’t get kicked in the feels like I do). Dale, I appreciate your putting this out there for people to see but there is something that I have to disagree with you on and it has to do with the heading. I can only speak for myself but this doesn’t “restore” my faith in human goodness, but instead affirm my faith in humans. And I’m gonna throw this out on the table and that is the majority of those seen in this video are in fact men. I agree that it just as important to highlight the good,kind and selfless acts of men just as it is important to give justice to those hurt by others.Good men exists,great men exist,kind,caring,intelligent,thoughtful men exist.The stereotype of men being against affection, “go make me a sandwich,bitch” coming out of their mouths and apathy towards rape does not and never has been fair to stick to all men,I think its very important to say “some men” ,”certain men”, “certain cultures of men” when talking about the overwhelming number of violent and heinous acts towards women that occur,women fear that by shedding… Read more »
