Living, growing, learning, loving … now that’s an adventure.
—
It is the thing they write books about. Some are made into movies. Some will become songs, and some will be passed down in families as family legends.
But it is nothing more than the story of a single life — just like the one you have inside you, challenging you every day.
Sometimes these great adventures start in the early years of a life; some are great tales about wise older men — age is no barrier.
Everything to make a great story, to have a great adventure is in a life no different from the one you have, no different from the one I have.
But don’t be fooled, they rarely come easy. Great stories often have years, sometimes decades building up to that moment, the climax that we retell as the great tale.
Some are about sailing across the seas, some take place in faraway lands, some are about work in local communities, or a particular skill practiced until perfection, some are about the warmth a father brings to a child’s life, and some are about the kindness in helping a stranger, or about a special pet in your life.
Every moment of every day we can work towards great things, things in our own backyard or across the world. We can create, invent, support, inspire, become, and manifest countless wonderful things — things that stories are written about.
We need to believe in ourselves and in those around us and support, nurture, and grow our dreams into life.
We are our own greatest adventure. Life with all its challenges, sadness, laughter, hugs, play, and work, is all one big adventure — the biggest one we will ever have.
So let’s remember to stop and enjoy the moments as we go along, pause and look around, bask in the moment, hold the hug a little harder, play ball a little longer, and relax in the moment a whole lot more.
Let’s do this because the greatest adventure for you is your life, this one right here, this one right now.
