Hey, women against feminism: You know who needs gender equality? Men.

By now most people have seen this piece of drivel, 15 Sassy Photos Show Why These Women are Rejecting the Feminist Movement. Sassy, for the love of all that’s holy, someone actually referred to a rebuttal of feminism by calling those who do “sassy.”
Yessir, these broads are spitfires. It’s gonna take a real cowboy to tame these fillies.
Moments like these remind me of my favorite J.R.R. Tolkien quote. Speaking of The Shire, he said, “They were, in fact, sheltered, but they had ceased to remember it.” Many of the women in that article look quite young, having grown up in the world that feminism fought to build.
They may think they don’t need it, but their signs show that they clearly do.
The tearing down of the patriarchy has a long way to go.
Not to mention …
You know who else needs feminism? Men. Men like me. And today I thought I’d enlist some of my fellow male feminists to make our own signs.
“I do need feminism! Because unlike others that lay claim to ‘critical thinking’ I can actually read the data!! Facts are facts. We have a long way to go!”
In direct response to #5 on the sassy list, “I don’t need feminism because I am capable of CRITICAL THINKING and I do not need other women representing ME.”
“I need feminism because my father made me read Germaine Greer when I was 13. Ever since, I have women friends (not just girl friends — real friends — You should try — It’s great).”

“To make society fair you need to look at the particular reasons why it is not. Feminism looks at a particular slice of inequality…But let’s be honest. It’s really obvious that all the pedantic accusations here aren’t really about feminism. It’s about a vague personal powerlessness that seeks a scapegoat. women- or a movement that is ostensibly about women- are an easy target for that huh? Just like racism did- as well as what the #alllivesmatter intentionally obtuse folks are doing with the subject of racism. So have at it. Everybody knows why you do it.” I’m sorry JT but your… Read more »
Lots of threatened people responding to this and confusing themselves. Let’s get back on track here: Feminism fights sexism. It began as a movement to correct the particular inequalities women faced (and continue to face) such as harassment, sexual assault, unequal access to opportunities because white men had control over society (you’re kidding yourself if you disagree with that.). and as the movement gained momentum, we started seeing how men are affected by the same things. So, to the person who asked for “just 3 instances”– yeah, and you point out three drops of water in a pool. And “I’m… Read more »
I don’t need feminism because I don’t believe that an entire gender is the root of all evils. I don’t need feminism because even if all those things mentioned in this article are issues, feminism won’t resolve them.
Just as I expected … none of the feminists will answer my very simple question.
“Repitan, Por Favor” Give me 3, just 3 examples where feminism has intentionally campaigned for men. Give me 3 examples of concrete benefits that men have received via feminism in the past 40 years?
As a sort of side note here. I find it particularly odd that we have women, especially that female soldier (Oorah, grrl), claiming that they do not need feminism to succeed in life; and what appears to be weak men claiming that they need this “thing” in order to to do the same…as if we men cannot make our way without it. Does that not strike anyone else as rather disconcerting, especially when we realize that there never was a need for this last wave of feminism? If we recall, it was “women’s liberation”, walking hand in hand with many… Read more »
“They attacked SAHMs in the 80s too.” I was a witness to this and my wife experienced it often. Fast forward to a few years ago when my daughter took on SAHM-hood and was mocked by her contemporaries. What I find interesting is a double standard. As I pointed out to an article by a stay at home dad where there was a discussion about his wife working and how it was her income that supported the family. Many of these stay at home dad articles justifiably promote his being there for the kids. But what is clearly missing is… Read more »
“What appears to be weak men”
I stopped reading right there. Thank you, I think that’s the best argument for feminism yet.
So context only matters when you want it to?
Its pretty clear that DJ himself doesn’t think those men are weak.
Plain and simple you aren’t engaging with people you are just hear to tow the line and pound your chest in hopes of drowning out anyone that disagrees with you.
You are exactly the type of feminist brick wall that makes things difficult for the ones that actually interested in working with men.
I think that they need to learn and understand what feminism is, not what the feminist tell them they are. It is clear that they have no idea as they are not demanding feminism, but egalitarianism. I’m guessing that they have been rote taught, inundated by the media elite as there is not even a determination of the type of feminism (feminism is splintered and dying). Feminism, as we know it, is at the bottom of every right and disenfranchisement that men and our boys face today from domestic violence to the educational disparities. The strongest of all strongholds of… Read more »
Feminism: the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.
Would that it were actually, concisely, so…
I need feminism, because I am just another fish out enjoying my bike. Teaching men to take back the kitchen #He4Sammich Feminism gives me the platform to never help, assist, pay attention to, consider or be involved with women; they don’t need men; and I agree – they should not have men in any shape, manner nor means. P.S. – If we are only worried about gender equality then THE WOMEN WHO ARE OVER THE ‘PARITY MARK’ by 30-35% of HR, 25-30% of teachers, 30% of healthcare workers and countless scores in Real Estate, Public Relations, Social Media, Travel and… Read more »
I think somebody goofed – Looks like this is a verbatim re-print of the same article article by the same author that already posted here, way back in October 2014, with just the change of heading for the title- see also: https://goodmenproject.com/ethics-values/guys-will-prove-wrong-feminism-hesaid/ Given that, I’ll just reiterate my original comment: “Feminism wants to be perceived, acclaimed, and universally acknowledged as uniformly interchangeable with ‘equality’ and gender-justice; and thus, the true and exclusive ideological path to it- but it simply is not so. It is false to assume that the ideals, beliefs, and morals of equality, opportunity, anti-bias, and justice that underscore… Read more »
I agree with Tom. It ain’t feminism we need as much as feminism supporting masculine. To support us doing the things we do because they’re human traitstraits, and many times just simply doing the right things at the right time.
Okay guys … You need feminism? Give me 3, just 3 examples where feminism has intentionally campaigned for men. Give me 3 examples of concrete benefits that men have received via feminism in the past 40 years? And as an FYI, ya don’t have to be a feminist to believe in these things, it’s called humanity which feminism doesn’t have a corner on that market. And given that only 20%, at best, admit to being feminist …. The next time you guys put on a pair of high heels so that you can walk in THEIR shoes, check out how… Read more »
Oh, and let’s not forget how feminism has made such great strides on helping boys in the schooling? After all, It’s true, women do outlive men based on the fact that the average life expectancy for women is 84.2 years while for men it is only 79.7. When it comes to education, it’s also true that girls outperform boys. “As the United States moves toward a knowledge-based economy, school achievement has become the cornerstone of lifelong success. Women are adapting; men are not. Yet the education establishment and federal government are, with some notable exceptions, looking the other way.” “Women… Read more »

Once more we put expressing and demanding fidelity to an ideological movement before actual issues and pragmatic support of men, or women.
