The author has a thing for shapely, curvy women. He explains why
Because they’re fu$#ing hot.
To me. And that’s all that matters.
I know. I know the questions I’ll get with this article. “Are you a chubby chaser?” “Do you like bigger girls because you’re black?” “Why did you even have to write this story?”
The answers to those hypothetical, imagined (hopefully, for now) questions are: 1. No, I’m not a chubby chaser. Those guys have a fetish, I don’t. 2. If you’re talking about black being a culture, you may be on to something. 3. I wrote this piece because I thought there were/are women out there in the digi-sphere who need to know that there are (kinda) handsome, (kinda) bright men out here who really dig them.
As far as the previous black culture mention, through the years I’ve noticed that in black and Latino/Latina culture (mostly), women with curves are revered. I know that within my black, male friend circles, we had no problem expressing our love of curvy women. Maybe that does play a part in my preference.
But, I have no problem with that.
Why do I love curvy (or curvier) women? I can’t lie, I love a nice backside (Hey. Black, hetero, and male. Sue me) . And curves are awesome to me. This is a respectable website, so I won’t go into too much detail about the carnal aspect of my preference, but I will write the words “exploration” “of” “every one of those curves” “turn our phones off”. You’re smart, you can fill in the rest.
I’ll also say that once again, in my experience, “thick” (Urban male here. Check the old Bobby Brown music video “Rock Wit’cha” for reference) women have a sexy resiliency about them. They know that mainstream society doesn’t, for the most part, see them as necessarily “hot”. Mainstream media can be cruel to women who are heavier. But, when a curvier woman can fight that mess, and still remain hot on her terms, that’s unbelievably cool and rock ‘n roll level sexy in my book.
So, curvy, full figured, thick women of the world. Get ready to raise your glasses, so you can toast and celebrate. Because there are many men out here like me who adore you, and are waiting to buy you that drink.

Love it!
Amen to that Mr.
I’m still looking for the man of my heart who want to meet a kind caring loving curved woman who’s affectionate , who takes care of herself ,pays her own bills and wants love.
I never knew such a Web site existed , I was just surfing full figured women in relationships . I am a African american full figured women that’s quite curvy. I have been divorced for 3 yrs now and haven’t been on a date since I smile , I’m nice and am classy & god fearing . I get a hi and a smile but that’s about it . I don’t discriminate when it comes to dating don’t want to miss out on my blessings .

What I want to know is who it is that is promulgating this myth that men prefer bones and sex organs over real live women with, you know, curves? I want to know because it is just one more myth about us. Is there some guy in a fortune cookie like factory pumping these things out and stuffing them into granola bars and diet pill boxes? My wife is the curve queen. She’s not fat at all, not… Read more »
My woman is curvy and white. I am Latino. I love every inch of her body. I looked for a woman with “baby got back”. Early in our courtship, she worried about her figure and I would say, “what color is my skin”. She moved in with me into my mostly ethnic (healthy mix of Latino and African people) and she was shocked at just how many compliments and stares she got. She said, I never knew such appreciation was out there, because she just dated white guys (she’s from a Podunk small white town; ahhh. Hometown visits, but that’s… Read more »
This was good for me. I’m 5’2 and I’m a size 12p which means I’m in that awkward “not quite plus/not quite average” place for clothing and swimsuit shopping. We women need to hear more men saying “hey curvy girls, I think you’re HOT!” I know men are saying it, but mainstream America is promoting the 0-6 girls. Just… Keep telling us curves girls we’re your preference. It doesn’t create arrogance, it is affirmation. Thanks guys!
I feel that full figured women tend to pay more attention to their bodies than the exercise self centered look at me ladies. The “bigger Woman tends to “buy a Better Quality of Clothing. Uses a better Quality of Make-up and is just more sincere about everything. I know ,I was a Buff man at one time. I think bigger is “Pretty” and more “Huggable’.so if you were not born “Skinnny do not sweat it. Men. real men love you! And that is the real”Skinnny!”
White/cis-gender male here. I’m right there with you in appreciation of gorgeous, thick figures. Let’s call them substantial, if you will. It’s not a fetish, it is, as you write, an acknowledgement of a more powerful “sexy” than model-thin women can wield. Ladies, I salute you.
I agree with you. For years the fashion industry and media has been controled by angry closeted gay men; who were unhappy with the lack of freedom and acceptance. The fashion industry and media have come to realize that plus size women have fought right along side them for Gay rights, Gay marriage, and things LGBTQPA. Now that they know we got their backs; they have our backs and you are seeing more models with meat on their bones. Even in the Gay culture you are seeing more lovely, thick, gorgeous drag queens. As Delta Work says “we can all… Read more »
The irony is that many women reading this article think they are chubby when in fact they’re not. Curves are relative. Either way, you have the “chick magnet” thing going on.
On the other hand, there is hardly a way to describe a chubby (i.e. curvy but not unattractively fat) woman, because the euphemism treadmill is such that basically every word is already tainted by having been used as a euphemism for “ballon-shaped”. E.g. in German we have the term Rubensfigur, which describes the body type preferred by the Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens in depicting attractive women. But if you read a women describing herself thus in online dating, you can be almost certain she is >100kg. Making the term all but useless in its original meaning.
Thank you. As a white curvy woman, the message that I have always been given is that all men are repulsed by me. It is so pervasive that the last time I was harassed on the street, I turned around and gave the guy a long lecture about how cruel it was to make fun of a woman that way. He was reduced to blabbering about how much he really, for real, wanted to bang me. Then it just got awkward.
Thank you for putting something else out there.
I’ve always been curvy and I’ve never had a hard time attracting the men I’ve wanted. I’ve never been rejected. I guess I’m lucky and had good experiences. My boyfriend thinks I’m so incredibly sexy and he’s a skinny white British boy! Haha. The other day he said “I don’t know why most men are only attracted to thin girls” and I responded “there’s nothing wrong with being thin, all body types are beautiful and there’s nothing wrong with that preference. But I’ve found that it’s just not true. Most guys want beautiful women, and beautiful women is a broad… Read more »
Back in my day, women like Jane Mansfield were HOT. By no means was she thin. Dolly Partin, though she’s a little more top heavy for my taste is sexy. And for that matter, Monroe wasn’t thin. Hour glass figures were in fashion …
I am curvy, extremely so, all soft wobbly flesh, 38GG boobs and seen by most people as fat, undesirable and probably a bit of a loser because I eat too much. But in my head I am one of the sexiest people on the planet. I have blogged about what it’s like to be fat, but never about being sexy and fat. Am just not brave enough yet. 🙂 But am lying here in bed with a big smile on my face thinking about how beautiful and appreciated curvy women are. Thank you.

Yeah….most blokes I know prefer curvy women !
It doesn’t matter what race a man is, from my experiances all men love curves. Or as one of my male friends said “meaty”.
Well, I’m not black or straight, but I am male. Always loved women with shape, rather than the anorexia look. All types are beautiful! But give me give me those Freddie Mercury bicycle queens every time!
First line of this well written article is really the only one necessary, I love plussed size women because it’s what i find attractive. No reason for it, It just is.
Being one of the curvy women, this kind of stuff is always a nice, welcomed affirmation. 🙂 Thanks for the post!
“Women with curves are revered…”
It’s funny when I made the decision to get reconstruction in tandem with my mastectomy…I thought about just leaving everything “flat” but my husband made it known that reconstruction was a preferable option….I am glad I got reconstruction….most people cannot tell that I had anything done….but it does make a woman wonder: without the boobs or without the shapely butt or without the hair, would my husband be attracted to me?
@ Leia,
“but it does make a woman wonder: without the boobs or without the shapely butt or without the hair, would my husband be attracted to me?”
Ask him.
My girlfriend opted for the same. It was done before we met. Regardless, I would feel the same for her. I am fond of her as a person. The breast and lovely rear are merely icing on the cake!
Yes, curvy women are gorgeous too! All women are gorgeous.
Our society is fixated on women being thin (looking like a shrimp!), young, and petite. I have a preference for two types of women: dark hair and nice curves (not obese). There is overweight (fat) and being obese.
It is time we appreciate that inner beauty that all women possess. Whether they are large, small, young, or old (confident, graceful and elegant) they are all great to be with.
I for one Am a curvier woman and have not really had many problems when it comes to dating but sometimes society does make you feel as though you are undesirables because you don’t fit into the box that has been made for us.
Thanks for speaking up and voicing your love for those of us who wear clothes that have double digits. Would love a longer article though 🙂
