A Wedding Ring That Keeps You From Cheating?

Okay, so we all know that there is no ring that’ll keep someone from cheating…

Newser feature a ring being sold by TheCheeky.com that has a negative engraving (a relief, if you will) of the words “I’M MARRIED” which will imprint upon your finger, letting all the would-be mistresses (or misters) know that you’re the type who slips off his or her wedding ring.

Obviously we can all think of about a thousand reasons this won’t work, but you can’t blame The Cheeky for capitalizing on all those cheaters who keep getting caught in public.

Of course, if you need a ring like this maybe you should reassess the structure of your relationship or do a bit of work on yourself…

What do you think of the idea of a ring that imprints your marital status on your ring finger? Would you wear it?

If a ring like this is needed to prevent your partner from cheating on you, you need another partner. I can’t imagine life in a relationship where something like this is an option.

If you think you need this ring, you really need a divorce.

If you think about it just a minute, you’ll realize the ridiculousness of it.
    - If you feel the need to wear it yourself, you need to seriously re-examine your relationship, or your character.
    - If you feel the need to impose it on your partner, you two have a serious trust issue; or an already broken relationship.
    - If both partners feel the need to wear it – just in case! – shouldn’t they talk about their hidden desire of a (sexually) open relationship? (after all, it can work; as long as both are honest about it)
Or maybe they’re just two control freaks. What about leashes and collars, then? ;)

Whatever the reason, IMO this ring is more exposing of an underlying issue, than a solution to anything.
It should come with a free psychological/couple counseling included. 8)

I don’t think there’s an aspect of this idea that isn’t wrong.
