Bob Hildreth is the founder of Families United in Educational Leadership (FUEL). FUEL helps the children of underprivileged families in the dangerous Lynn and Chelsea areas outside of Boston to achieve and afford the goal of higher education. They involve the families in their children’s college savings programs and use the microfinance technique of matching savings to help fund savings goals.
Hildreth had a successful career in the finance industry, but turned his sights toward philanthropy in 2009. His family’s background was in education, so he combined that with his finance expertise to create FUEL. He was featured on Fox 25 Boston today. Check him out:
