Residents of Temecula, CA, gifted Marine Corporal Juan Dominguez and his wife, Alexis, with everything they needed for a perfect wedding to show their gratitude for his service to the country.
In 2010, Marine Corporal Juan Dominguez lost both of his legs and his right arm in an explosion while serving in Afghanistan. For serving his country, the residents of his town, Temecula, CA, wanted to find a way to thank him. When he got engaged to Alexis, they found the perfect way.
The town pitched in everything from the venue to the rehearsal dinner to the entertainment to the flowers to the bride’s makeup—a gift that totaled over $30,000 in goods and services. With everyone’s enthusiastic assistance, Juan and Alexis were able to make the happiest day of their life also one of the biggest.
After multiple surgeries and constant therapy, Juan was able to use his prosthetics and supports to stand by himself for the first time at the wedding.
“It’s finally coming together, and what better to do than walk down the aisle with my wife?” he said.
With a celebratory atmosphere and a supportive community, Juan and Alexis had a perfect day.
“Every girl wants a dream wedding, and this is my dream wedding,” Alexis said in the video. “Especially because I’m marrying the man of my dreams.”
