  1. “I don’t buy it. If you’ve “hidden your sexual preference using Facebook’s privacy settings,” you won’t receive “gay” ads.”

    Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is false. I just played around with my privacy settings, and nothing stopped the gay ads from coming.

    Not that I care either. Plus, no matter how stereotypical it is, as a gay man I would expect that the reason I would be presented with the nursing ad would be because I’m gay, though maybe not everyone else is cynical enough or pays attention to the details of what they’re doing.
