One man is on a mission to get children out of the motels of Anaheim, California, and into real homes.
Last year Chef Bruno Serato was named one of the Top Ten CNN Heroes for the work he does with the ‘motel kids’ in Anaheim, California, serving over 300 children dinner every night before they return to the motels they live in with their parents. This year, Chef Serato has taken his mission of caring for his ‘motel kids’ to the next level.
By working with a local nonprofit group to provide families with a security deposit and first and last month’s rent, Chef Serato has helped 22 families find permanent homes just this year. And what is his goal for next year? To help 70 more families move out of the motel.
