According to statistics, federal recalls of children’s products are the lowest they have been in 8 years, but accidental deaths caused by these very same products are up 200% since 2012. According to HLN, “there are 18 categories for durable infant and toddler products listed by the federal government, the Consumer Product Safety Commission regulates just four of them.” Often the CPSC does not step in to issue a recall until a child has died.
