One of the top search results about Paul Ryan in the last few days was “Paul Ryan Shirtless” – in fact, for a while, it was the second most popular search term about the politician! The second most popular! WTF, people? Are we really this shallow?
I think we all know the answer to that question… Yes. Yes, we are.

American politics is anathema!
If this is the level of Google search for Paul Ryan, does anyone have on record what was being looked up for Obama?
I have two suspicions! Either there are more G.A.Y. men in America revealing their interests in Politicians, else the ladies are being shown up by Google as Swing Voters … and just how they swing! P^)
Just a hunch, but I’m guessing “shirtless” would be the ladies; gay men, on the other hand, would be searching “pantless”
Sorry to be a cynical downer, but I will note that a non-zero percentage of voters make their votes based on their gut feeling about each candidate on voting day, and a sense of sexual attraction has been known to sway gut feelings towards the positive. I can’t help but imagine all the women voting for teh sexy, and then wondering why their insurance won’t cover the pill a year later, well I could go to planned parenthood except…and I don’t get paid as much as the men at work for some reason…
Yes, this is one of the few politicians who voted against equal pay, and planned parenthood, and insurance coverage for birth control. Meanwhile it’s supposedly women looking for his abs. Reminds me of the Twilight debacle. feministing.com’s summary:
