This month, we were honored to be joined by Nick Inzerello, Senior Director of Football Development over at USA Football, which is football’s national governing body.
Nick chatted with GMP editors and premium members Liam Day, GMP’s Sports editor, Oliver Lee Bateman, editor of The Moustache Club of America, Jamie Reidy, author of A Walk’s as Good as a Hit and football superfan, Marie Roker-Jones: football fan and mom blogger from Raising Great Men, and GMP Senior Editor Joanna Schroeder.
The conversation focused mainly on the ways in which parents can help keep kids safe while playing sports, and the debate about whether kids should be playing football at all, considering what is known about brain injuries and diseases like Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.
Nick also explained the ways in which USA Football is trying to change football culture – including the terminology surrounding tackles.
USA Football offers fantastic information about concussions, and the websites Nick highlights in the hangout are available here.
We hope you enjoy this month’s show and want to hear from you, our members, about what topics would be of interest for upcoming Premium Member Hangouts.
