Americans are inherently awful at anything that involves using our feet. Our most popular sport is called “football,” yet it revolves around the idea of a ball being carried in one’s hands, while others try to tackle the ball carrier with their arms.
In real football (we changed it to “soccer”), we’re getting better, but our resources outnumber the results. We have great athletes, a ton of people, and a lot of money, but we still haven’t caught up to the rest of the world in the whole feet-as-sport thing.
Because most you have the day off, instead of sitting around, watching the leaves change, go challenge yourself. We want you to get out of that hands-only comfort zone.
No, we don’t want you playing soccer. Well, we do, but not now, without any practice. That would be dangerous, and we hate it when our readers get hurt.
Instead, we want you to go play the piano with your feet. Gross? Yes. It most definitely is, but do it anyway. Try to play “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” If that’s too hard, try just to play a scale. I bet you can’t do it.
Once you’ve failed, come back and watch this.
Amazing, isn’t it?
