NYC – Titanic Moment, Fully Lit Pier 88 Flooded by Storm Surge Goes Dark (Photos)

As the surge of water moved inland on the west side of Manhattan, Pier 88 at 48th Street and the West Side Highway glowed eerily as the water rose inside the pier buildings. It was a Titanic moment watching the glow of lights in the fully powered building as water continued to rise. Minutes after these photos were taken a loud bang signaled the building going dark as rising water moved across the West Side Highway.
