Tony Tolbert learned about giving from his father, and he is putting those lessons to good use.
Tony Tolbert, a 51-year-old Los Angeles attorney is donating his home for a year, rent free, to a family he has never met. According to CBS News, Tolbert moved back in with his parents so that a homeless family selected by the Alexandria House, a shelter for homeless women and children could have a second chance. He said,
You don’t have to be Bill Gates or Warren Buffet or Oprah. We can do it wherever we are, with whatever we have, and for me, I have a home that I can make available.
Kindness creates kindness. Generosity creates generosity. Love creates love. And I think if we can share some of that and have more stories about people doing nice things for other people, and fewer stories about people doing horrible things to other people, that’s a better world.
Thanks to Mr. Tolbert’s amazing generosity, Felicia Dukes and her four children can move out of the one room in the shelter they shared and finally have a place to call home again.
