It was my incredible good fortune to be the close friend of Fred Rogers, the children’s television icon and a person of historic human greatness. Fred tided me through great travail, serious depression, problems in marriage, a problematic relationship with my father, and the tragic illness of a close sibling. Thanks largely to him, I have emerged into the sunlight of life, and try to share the lessons I learned at his knee. I’m so glad I found this organization, and will do all I can to support its mission. Fred himself would have loved it.
