Open Discussion:
If you could create the perfect candidate for President, what would s/he stand for? What would be his or her background?
Would it matter if it were a man or a woman? How about race?
What traits would give you confidence in this person?
Could that person ever really exist?

Frankly, I’d settle for anyone willing to have an honest discussion with the American public about the need to reform Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Note that by “honest discussion” I mean a plan to dramatically reduce future spending on those programs.
I don’t care if the candidate is a convicted felon, male, female, trans, black, white, or magenta. So long as the candidate’s platform includes a good plan for this serious problem, and there’s a willingness to take the political risk to get the work done, the the candidate would have my vote.
Because so long as the field of candidates continues to deal with the future of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid by covering their eyes, depending upon “hope,” or insisting that there is no need for reform, then it’s hard to believe that any of the candidates will be very good at identifying the problems actually facing America and coming up with credible plans to solve them.
He’d be wearing a lab coat, flashing a peace sign, and burning a Bible.
