Yet another reason (along with Paparazzi, TMZ and strangers who feel like they have the right to talk to you whenever they want) for those of us average folk to be grateful we’re not famous!
Politwoops is making a business of screen-grabbing misspelled, mistyped, and misguided Tweets from politicians.
I can’t see why we need to know that Democrat Frank R Lautenberg mistyped “It ain’t over til it’s over” and then deleted it… And the rest of the posts—honest to God—they make no sense to me.
It seems like a good idea, but in execution I bet only about eight people in the nation truly understand why these Tweets were deleted. Even more amazingly, some of them they grab within seconds of them going up!
Take a look at this one below… What do you think happened with Rep Tim Walberg and this post about his wedding anniversary? Had the wrong date? Sue not pleased at him talking publicly about their love? Been together 39 years, not 38?Wife’s name not Sue? (Wikipedia shows that his wife’s name is, in fact, Susan… Gotta be something else…). And how (more importantly why) did they grab it in 21 seconds?
What about this one by Rep. Mary Bono Mack (R)?
So what do you think of sites like Politwoops? Do they serve an important watchdog function, or is it just another case of TMI?
What did you mean by your first sentence?
Me? Just that for the rest of us no one gives a shit if we screw some minor thing up. Famous people have to really watch their Ps and Qs… as it were.
