Joel Bush didn’t realize that his romantic proposal to his girlfriend was going to photographed… In fact, he thought they were alone.
But Patrick Lu had a camera, and his friend spotted Bush getting down on one knee. The photograph turned out stunning, but by the time they looked away from the camera, the couple was gone.
Lu posted the photo on Reddit, where it went wildly viral, making it to the front page.
Turns out Joel Bush got wind of it, and the photographer and groom-to-be were connected via Twitter.
What a great social media story!

We were in Wal-Mart, buying lingerie for later in the evening. As we waited in the check-out line, I joked, “If we keep this up, you’re going to ask me to marry you!” He got a very serious look on his face. “Will you?”
And… well. There we were.
(Probably not very exciting to photograph, I’m afraid, but it makes a fun story.)
