According to Sky News, British stuntman, Gary Connery, attempted the first-ever jump from a helicopter over 2000 feet high without a parachute…
And he made it!
Connery was wearing a wing suit, and aimed himself toward a giant runway of cardboard boxes built by his friends and supporters.
For a few moments after he landed, nobody knew if he was okay—after all, nobody had done this before so they didn’t know how the cardboard boxes would work as a landing pit for a man without a parachute.
But Connery emerged from the boxes to cheers of relief and excitement.
What do you think of stunts like this? Do you ever dream of being a daredevil?
Have you ever jumped out of a plane? Have you ever flown through the sky in a wing suit? Would you?
Thanks for sharing, this is a fantastic blog post.Really looking forward to read more. Awesome.
But why is there TWO MEN falling off the helicopter and just ONE landing?
That’s just amazing. I do admire his guts.
Jump or jump not. There is no attempt.
Well, it isn’t a successful jump until you land on the ground alive.
Land alive, or land alive not. There is still jump.
I come from a family of Air Force pilots. I’ve been taught that it makes no sense to jump out of an airplane when you don’t have to. Parachuting is evidence that something incredibly horrible has happened and you hope you never have to, not something to volunteer for. That’s my bias, and I’m sticking to it….
Wing suits are one of the things I most want to do. I’d like to go cliff diving in the Andes. I’m going sky diving next month, and I’m finally taking up mountain climbing this summer starting with Mt. Washington followed by Mt. Whitney. Next year I will be climbing Mt. Rainier and Kilimanjaro!
