Study of the Day: Pumpkin Pie Turns Guys On

It wants you, too.

Researchers have found that for men ages 16 to 64, pumpkin pie tops the list of the most sexually arousing perfumes.

Don’t believe us? Here’s Dr. Alan Hirsch, Director of Chicago’s Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Center, who performed the study:

The number-one odor that enhanced penile blood flow was a combination of lavender and pumpkin pie.

Strawberry and vanilla were also high on the list. Strangely, cranberry was one of the least arousing of the lot (despite being a Thanksgiving dinner favorite). Researchers assert that the odors act to reduce anxiety, which tends to remove inhibitions.

Their perfume aside, pumpkins have been proven to benefit men with erectile dysfunction.

Dr. Ralph Monserrat, an expert in alternative medicine:

Pumpkin seeds are very rich in zinc. That, in itself, is very valuable in individuals who have prostate enlargement … because they are very rich in zinc, there will be an increase in testosterone and that increase will also increase the sexual desire.
