If you don’t know who Tom and Katie are, man do I envy you!
It’s hard to escape this pop news cycle, so you’ve probably seen clips Tom Cruise going bananas on Oprah’s couch screaming (I’m paraphrasing here)”Katie! Kate! I LOVE Katie!” And you may have thought, “This’ll never last.” Or maybe you thought, “I don’t give a crap.” Either way, you’re pretty normal I’d guess.
Lots of people would say that the age difference between the two doomed them from the start. Cruise is 16 years older than Holmes.
The saddest news is that Katie Holmes is allegedly suing for full custody of little Suri, according to TMZ. Sad because either a father is being threatened with losing his rights, or if it’s justified, something has been very wrong in their family. Either way, it’s tragic for the child.
What, if anything do you think this divorce says about society, and marriage, as a whole?

2 Corinthians 6 talks about being unequally yoked. I think the biggest problem in their relationship is their difference in religious beliefs. Katie, a devout Catholic marries Tom, a devout Scientologist. I’m saddened by the whole thing because I’m such a fan of the two of them. That many people change over time, grow apart, some are not suited to be monogymous, lives can be very busy and it seems for some life is just getting even more crammed by us trying to do too much without spending enough time together.
There are plenty of celebrity marriages that seem to work fine, Hugh Jackman for instance.
