UCONN Rape Sketch: Comedy Gone Terribly Wrong
I’m not too much of an expert in anything except what I am either outraged or passionate about.
Daily, I find myself completely befuddled by society’s blind acceptance of things which anyone with a pulse and any moral compass whatsoever should be completely appalled by.
These are my opinions and should be treated as such. Fair enough. I respect others’ opinions as well but do reserve the right to use whatever platform I can access to call into question the sanity, validity, or ethical hollowness and hypocrisy.
Since Tailhook and before, a culture of abuse has existed in the in the military.
Once again, now that the investigation has begun at Lackland, there may be some hope for change in that culture.
Way too little, way too late.
Abuse and rape are rampant in the Native American Population. The numbers are appalling. Native American women experience the highest rate of violence of any group in the United States. Yet, it seems, not much attention is being given to this issue. On the tail end of the Sandusky and Penn State and newer scandals like at U of M, we are finally being forced to acknowledge that these crimes exist, and their public nature more than meets the public voyeur quota.
These things have been going on since the beginning of time. People have known and not said a word as well. When it comes to children, or forcible rape, most of us react the best way we know how. I find myself angry, and even on occasion, saddened by the incredibly lengths a human psyche can be manipulated, or damaged. I’m not sure I buy into the whole “evil” thing, but like most, I deal with life’s more distasteful issues as best I can.
It’s been going on forever. I just want to know, at what point did someone decide that RAPE is funny? Apparently, as seen on The Young Turks University, that has been going on for a long time too.
