Scary video of what is being reported as an explosion at ConEd.
According to Gothamist.com, the explosion happened in a ConEd building that may be on 14th street. Most of Lower Manhattan has now lost power. They are also offering many photos of a darkened New York City like we’ve never really seen it before.
Twitter user BuckyTurco is offering a number of photos of NYC, as well as live-tweeting updates.

You’re right, based on the pedestrian crossing, that is a loop.
