Jamie Reidy shares a band’s video that set a World Record for most costume changes in a music video.
I’d never heard of Eytan and The Embassy until I saw this video on CNN. (Note: Once upon a time I watched videos on MTV and VH-1. Now I learn about them on CNN.com??? #BecomingMyDad. Jesus. I just published a book about trying NOT to become my Dad. Obviously, it’s not working.)
But I’m gonna buy this catchy song on iTunes because these guys are a lot of fun.
Eytan Oren, lead singer and piano player, explains the rationale behind the video:
Why don’t we do the history of rock and roll?
Why not, indeed.
Absolutely everybody in the world should be a world record holder in something.
I wish I held a world record. I do hold a school record in track – with two other guys on my relay team; I was the slow leg. My father makes fun of me because every time I go back to my high school I check to make sure my name is still up there on the gym wall for the 400-intermediate hurdles relay record. It is. We shattered that mofo.
Of his new world record, Eytan says,
I would be so excited if somebody came along and beat our record.
Eytan, you are a better man than I!
Editor’s Note: this post originally listed the record as a Guinness Book of World Records record. Not true. It is a record at RecordSetter.com. We regret the error.

Hey Jamie,
Thanks so much for the support!!! Just a heads up that the record is on Record Setter (not Guinness). It’s a very fun site, check it out if you get the chance.
Best of Luck,
Eytan
Thanks so much for reading/responding/righting(?)!
I’ll make the correction.
Best of luck with the song. You’ve got a new fan!
