We discovered today that author Leslie Esdaile Banks, better known as L.A. Banks has died after a battle with adrenal cancer at age 51. She'd been recently diagnosed and did not have health insurance. In an almost ominous bit of foreshadowing, Banks met with President Obama a year and a half ago — long before her diagnosis — and spoke with him about her family's need for affordable health care coverage. A fund has been set up to help her family with mounting debt from her loss.
Banks was best known for her Vampire Huntress and Crimson Moon paranormal action series, and also wrote horror, romance and crime stories. Our thoughts are with her family and friends in this challenging time, and in the words of our Kemetic ancestors, anedge hirak LA Banks.
