Oh, now that's interesting. Industry scuttlebutt points to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson becoming a real American hero …
Johnson is in discussions with Paramount to join G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. That's the overhauled sequel that'll be directed by Jon M. Chu, who helmed Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Johnson's role is a character named Roadblock.
… and …
His last few starring roles in movies like Tooth Fairy and Faster were basically flops. On the other hand the supporting roles he’s taken have resulted in mega-blockbusters like The Other Guys and Fast Five.
On one hand, any fan who knows the character Roadblock — described as a huge man carrying a machine gun normally mounted on an armored vehicle, hefting a Browning .50 caliber like a Nerf gun — is nobody's wallflower. Whether speaking in rhyme or not, this boisterous and gregarious Gulf coast native is the team's chef and in many ways center of morale. Admittedly, the action figure's quite a bit, uh, more gifted with melanin than Brother Johnson, but we won't hold that against him. Right?
Here's to some gumbo and large caliber weaponry!
