Trigger warning for rape and extreme violence.
ETA: L reports that the Michigan anti-bullying legislation does NOT include a religious exception anymore. A little bit of hope to brighten your morning.
Last week, a guy traveled on a bus to Milwaukee to meet a girl from the Internet. She and her roommate tied him up, slashed and stabbed him in excess of three hundred times and raped him, apparently as part of a Satanic ritual. The radio announcer I originally heard this from said that he was a pussy for pressing charges because a threesome is every man’s dream and a few stabbings were worth it.
Penn State riots because the football coach who covered up nine years of rape of children was fired. His achievements as a football coach apparently outweigh, in the minds of many students, the fact that he knowingly allowed children to be raped by his subordinate.
My girlfriend mentions her friend in elementary school, a femme little boy who enjoyed sewing and putting on makeup. His parents forbid her and his other friends from buying him Barbies for his birthday, even though they were the only toy he wanted; they threatened to throw out any he received as presents.
Michegan GOP is apparently under the impression that it’s okay to tell a boy he’s a faggot who’s going to get AIDS and go to hell if this is your sincere religious belief.
Some days it is not worth getting out of bed for.
@Ozy:
I was wondering if you had any comment on the Jezebel article about the Penn State crimes. I found it pretty disturbing.
re: foreskin man: sorry, I made that comment without looking for more than tree seconds at the site, and finding it funny. Sorry, again. You can delete the link. Ozy: people talking badly about victims: micro or medium agression. Men bein assaulted as in the mentioned cases: serious stuff. I think that if you only wanted to talk abu the agression of the people talking about stuff and not the agression the actual victims suffered, then you should have made it clear. And, given that the actual victim’s suffering was probably bigger than yours, I stil feel that the title… Read more »
@davenj: yeah… I was not expecting that. Very poor taste.
@vbvcb
If a viciously anti-semitic comic gives you hope I’d suggest revising your definition of hope.
sdfdf: “Microaggressions” is a term for the little, day-to-day kyriarchal shit that gets you down. All of these are microaggressions to me, because I didn’t get stabbed or anything. Yes, it is a fairly self-centered title. 🙂
L: Yay! I’ll update the post.
@Ozy: Yup! Looks like I wasn’t just seeing things after all, haha: http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/crime/michigans-anti-bullying-law-will-not-include-religious-exemption
http://www.foreskinman.com/foreskinman.htm 🙂 for a little gmh
On a forum I frequent, one asshole said “well, at least he had the time of his life” about the first story. I pointed out that while he might have been having a lot of fun during the threesome part (assuming that it was consensual), the knife-wounds part would have turned it into “Oh dear God NO, SOMEBODY HELP ME!!” pretty fast. After all, since he’s pressing charges, we can be pretty sure he did NOT consent to knife play, blood play, or being repeatedly attacked in a ritual setting. Letting two strangers tie him up wasn’t the brightest idea,… Read more »
“If you’re a character in a movie or television show, letting someone tie you up for sex is always, always a bad idea.”
Even in real life, letting someone you’ve just met tie you up for sex is always, always a bad idea.
If you’re a character in a movie or television show, letting someone tie you up for sex is always, always a bad idea. Real Life usually isn’t like movies, as I’m sure at least some people here can attest, but, well, sometimes it is… 🙁
I don’t like the title. This level of abuse is not micro at all. I was thinking we are about to talk about almost innocent remarks or being looked at strangely when wearing pink as a guy…. Calling all these microagressions is disrespectful for the victims. what should a guy receive for it to be called real agression? (I’m attacking the word choice and not the post or ozy, just to make it clear.)
I wish people would stop talking as if FFM threesomes were the Holy Grail of sex. First off, they’re not that hard to set up if you hang out with people who are open minded about sex. Second, they’re not that great. I mean, threesomes aren’t bad, but they’re not better than twosomes. Just different.
The guy getting attacked and stabbed is awful, as are the comments on that article, most of which are basically saying “well, at least he had sex”. Awful people.
L: Did it? Awesome! XD
If I may add, I came across a list of “when a boy becomes a man” and one of these were “when he hugs you after you punch him”. Because women are just histrionic anyway and not leaving your abusive partner is “manly”.
Didn’t the “sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction” part of the Michigan legislation get dropped recently?
