As a member of the social media team for The Good Men Project, I have seen the growth and spreading of the mission, and have been a proud member of the community. On an almost daily basis I am asked by a member of the community, or one of my many other social and professional networks “how can I get more involved?”
As part of the ad hoc staff, befittingly, and lovingly known as “Evangelists” we are constantly in discussion about how to continue to grow and spread the word. We have wrestled with business models, revenue building, recruiting engagement from the community and many other less glamorous topics with the central theme of answering the questions that help define what it means to e a “good” man in these times. Under the wisdom and guidance of CEO Lisa Hickey, Founder Tom Matlack, The Editors, and a virtual legion of “Evangelists” we have continued to thrive and grow. The conversations being held under our roof are of extreme importance. We ask and answer questions many of us would find much easier to allow to stay in the shadows, unspoken, and forever locked away in some fatalistic ideal that things will always be this way, or that they cannot change. None of us, from the most recent Facebook friend, Twitter Follower, reader, or the oldest members of the team are willing to accept that. We firmly and strongly believe in one of our oldest tenets,”If you don’t like the conversation, then change it.” We aim to do just that.
But HOW? We know our forum and community is strong. We are learning from day to day what the topics are that matter related to answering the cornerstone question. Our hope is that the conversation will grow in size and scope. That is how you can help. Please take a minute to Donate Your Twitter Account in support of the Good Men Project. In addition spreading the word about us in your usual social ways through FaceBook shares, Re-Tweets and other methods, you will be allowing us to provide a very limited number of RT @GoodMenProject tweets on your behalf.
