He’s a beast on the court, unrelenting in his drive to win, but tennis champ Novak Djokovic showed the world his softer side during his opening round match at the French Open.
—
Play had been suspended due to rain, and Djokovic, who was up 6-1, 5-2 on Joao Sousa, sat down while one of the ball boys stood over him with an umbrella. But Novak wasn’t having any of that, instead he made room for the young man on the bench beside him and even took command of the umbrella for the length of the delay.
What may seem like nothing but a small gesture to many will be a lifelong memory for this young man.
