Because Americans clearly can’t resist the urge to shoot each other with projectile weapons, NERF (you know, the folks that brought you the semi-automatic dart gun) decided to take the concept one step further, unveiling the new Vortex line.
In lieu of the foam darts with which the Nerf brand has become synonymous over the years, the new line of plastic munitions fires plastic/rubber discs.
According to testers, the discs fire with surprising accuracy—and, as testers have discovered, no small amount of pain:
When you fire, you’ll notice a big difference from the wobbly darts you might be used to—when you make contact, instead of the usual “Ah!,” your target’ll belt out an “Ah, s***!”
Parents, don’t be concerned: it’s not a plastic missile in an action figure’s backpack, so your children should be perfectly safe.
