Being able to smell the brownies baking in a Betty Crocker commercial is wrong on so many levels. Advertisers will have a field day if the Smell-O-Vision device created by scientists at the University of California, San Diego takes off.
Apparently, it fits onto the back of the television and is able to create "thousands of odors at will." In addition to comedy channels potentially subjecting viewers to the smell of Jheri Curl juice and cigarette smoke, consumers will have to purchase refill cartridges when the smell-forming solutions in the device run out.
What about you? Do you want to be able to smell N'Bushe Wright on your tube?
