Josh Bowman is sharing his father’s poetry all week. Today, Zen River Memories.
Note: this week I am publishing a travel poetry series, all written by my dad. This is his book. Buy it if you like poems (you can also email my dad directly). Next week, I’m publishing a series from my mom. Big ups to the ‘rents.
Zen River Memories
Savouring this back road rendezvous
North of Seven,
filled with promise, contemplation and peace.
Escaping from a world driven insane
by endless reports of disaster,
I watch this river find its time-laden course,
while the rest of the world
scurries towards ultimate oblivion.
