100 Words on Love, by Olivia Derr

Your hands lead across the floor, in perfect time. I let go, only for a moment; you catch me again, gently bringing me back into the circle of your arms. We form a closed loop, intertwining at times, opposing at others.
‘Round and ’round we go. You are my whole world; I am yours. The mere touch of a finger sends me spinning. My eyes follow your hands; your fingers lead me to the ends of the earth.
The song ends; the moment seems to pass on.
But the moment lives on, in our fingertips, unspoken, but waiting for another song.

To ask and hear you accept is true happiness. Your hand resting warm in mine as we take the floor. Our embrace: a moment’s awkwardness, a timeless grace.
I struggle to keep time. My mind thinks only of you in my arms. You move with an elegance that mystifies me. I might lead, but it is you that commands the rooms.
I’m staring, again. I can’t resist. You blush. A goddess. Brilliant and beautiful. Glory shining.
I can feel the music winding down and I will a few more seconds of this paradise. Songs end, but dance goes on forever.
