100 Words on Love, by Cindy Gericke
–
You have given me the most exquisite gift: the fill to overflowing of a heart that, before you, lie like a skeleton in my chest, chalky, barren, and brittle. Now, with every touch and declaration, my chest swells, sways heavy, ruptures, then spouts as I lift my arms and eyes toward a love so absolute, consuming, and clear that I am naked before you.
How do I thank you for filling me with joy?
For accepting me just as I am?
For teaching me how large a life can be?
I will say, “I love you” and hope you understand.
