It’s the 21st century. Just what does independence mean to you?
The Good Men Project will be running posts on the subject of how what independence looks like in the twenty-first century, and what it means to be free. We want personal stories and narratives that speak to larger truths— how independent are you, really? Do you feel the benefits of freedom? Would you trade the freedoms you have now for more governmental protection? What is the change you would like to see? How have your views on independence changed over the years? If you live in the U.S., what does the July 4th mean to you? Is it just another commercialized holiday, or do you actually stop and look at things differently on that day?
We are looking for written submissions that are 700-1,200 words in length, but we would also like to run multi-media posts — videos, photo essays, audio — anything that reflects on the theme and is also part of The Good Men Project brand story. Read our About Page for more on what we do and how we look at the world. Or email below and ask for our contributor presentation to learn more.
Email submissions (or questions) to Noah Brand [email protected] or Lisa Hickey, [email protected] by Saturday, June 26 for consideration.
