Which celebrity
would you want
to look like?
These two similar ideas got me thinking: If given the choice, which celebrity would I want to look like?
We all, I think, want to be something: thinner, taller, younger, smaller nose, stronger chin, etc. Any of those or all. Or something completely different. But what if you could look like your favorite celebrity?
Forget plastic surgery and having to spend six or seven figures on a complete body transmogrification. No, this can be done with a simple wave of your fairy godmother’s wand.
But let’s say you want to look like Marlon Brando during the time of The Wild One, but you’re not keen on looking like Marlon during his Apocalypse Now (and later films). Well, just to make it interesting, your fairy godmother says you can look like the celebrity of your choice at the age of your choice, and it will stay that way forever.
Maybe your dream is to look like Johnny Depp during his 21 Jump Street days, or you dream of looking like Lindsay Lohan before she discovered the ways of hard partying (which I’m guessing was circa Herbie Reloaded, but who really knows?). The catch to this, and possibly a benefit, is that when you’re ninety, you’ll still look like that.
Who would you want to look like and at what age?
Me, I’d go with James Dean at the time of Rebel Without A Cause.
I get Jack Black and Vincent D’onfrio now, so… 1). 1984-ish Bill Murray, 2). Maltese Falcon-era Humphrey Bogart, 3). Miller’s Crossing-era Gabriel Byrne, 4). Rear Window-era Grace Kelly, 5). Hot Fuzz-era Simon Pegg, 6). Great Escape-era Steve McQueen, 7). Casino Royale-era Eva Green, 8). Butch Cassidy-era Paul Newman, 9). Sneakers-era River Phoenix, 10). North by Northwest-era Cary Grant.
I just checked …. that was back in 1979
Ya know, I was thinking about some of the modern day men and I’m gonna go with Cary Grant as well. Reason is that I looked at how actors aged and when Cary aged, he looked great. Met him at a funeral my wife and I crashed in Hollywood …. that’s at least 30 years ago.
I’ve been told I look a little like Brendan Fraser, just with more hair these days 🙂
At first I thought John Holmes and then I thought that’s not what this means. Need to give it more thought. Can we combine different characteristics?
I think the answer is yes.
Elizabeth Taylor, around the time she was in “Cleopatra.”
Or Rita Hayworth, around the time she was in “Gilda.”
Or young Celia Cruz.
I want to be clear when I say this that I am talking JUST about looks here and not personality, drug addiction, penchant for terrible men, or offensively bad fake accents:
1. Clarie Forlani
2. Young Cybil Shepard (sp?)
3. Kerry Washington
4. Young Ali McGraw
5. Jennifer Hudson
6. Young Whitney Houston
7. Eva Mendes
8. Lucy Liu (though we do both have freckles)
9. CeCe from New Girl
10. Veronica Lake in Sullivan’s Travels
Not gonna go with a funny answer and just say I wouldn’t mind if I resembled 1950s era Cary Grant.
