Would you ever wear
these grey sweatpants
out in public?
And if so, what would the circumstances have to be? Would they have to be extraordinary or are such pants a regular part of your everyday wardrobe? How do you feel when you see someone out and about in pants like this? Do you notice? Do you feel a slight twinge of despair & pity, as if they indicate that the wearer has given up on life? Or do you feel a sense of admiration for someone who clearly doesn’t care what anyone thinks of them?
Is it clueless or bold? Should we even be allowed to have opinions about how other people dress? How comfortable is TOO comfortable when it comes to being out in public? Is there even such a thing? Can I get away with every sentence in this post being a question?
I prefer not to judge people on something as trivial and unimportant as their clothing. I am glad people feel able to wear what they like and not be concerned about the shallow judgements of a self-appointed audience. Art openings/fancy parties like that etc Some people DO take offense and find it an insult – because in a way you’re saying, “I don’t care how important you think this event/place is, I don’t think it is.” It’s all societal bullshit but… Read more »
I wear much baggier sweat pants like this regularly to go shopping etc. I work from home, and I always go shopping in the morning at 8am before I start my work at 9. When I wake up it’s cold and the last thing I want to do it put some jeans or chinos on. I also workout everyday at lunch time, so I’m already wearing the right stuff – it saves time which I don’t have.. That’s the reason behind it – but I’m a young guy with a shaved head, so in public perhaps people perceive me as… Read more »
Sweatpants are acceptable for exercise and winter sleeping. Nothing else.
